EVENTS MANAGER

The Events Manager oversees the planning and execution of all Fur Rondy festival events, working closely with the Executive Director and Operations Manager to ensure smooth, well-coordinated operations. This role provides leadership to event directors and supervises the Events & Volunteer Coordinator, ensuring event logistics, staffing, volunteer management, and timelines are effectively executed.

Key responsibilities include coordinating event schedules and requirements, supporting onsite operations, assisting with registrations and tournaments, and ensuring sponsor benefits are fulfilled. The Events Manager collaborates across departments, maintains accurate event records, supports new event development, and helps ensure all events align with GAI policies and operational standards.

Events & Volunteer Coordinator

The Events & Volunteer Coordinator supports the Events Manager & Executive Director in the planning, coordination, and execution of Fur Rondy’s signature festival events, with a primary focus on event logistics and volunteer management. This role works closely with event directors, committee chairs, and the Operations Manager to ensure each event has the resources, staffing, and support needed for success. Key responsibilities include coordinating registrations for major Rondy events and tournaments, assisting with tournament operations, and supporting event setup and teardown needs.

The Coordinator manages all aspects of the volunteer program, including maintaining the volunteer database, processing requests, assigning volunteers to events, recruiting as needed, and collecting participation data. This position also assists with event permit preparation, supports sponsorship fulfillment (such as ensuring sponsor banners and benefits are delivered), and maintains records, documents, and reports using computer-based systems. The Coordinator supports new event development, adheres to GAI policies and procedures, and performs additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the festival.

Assistant Manager of Operations

Season Full-Time ( repeats yearly) Dec-March

$22-$25 / hr

The Assistant Manager of Operations supports the Operations Manager in coordinating the logistics, setup, and execution of all Fur Rondy events. This hands-on role helps manage daily operations, outdoor event preparation, equipment and supply needs, and onsite support for parades, tournaments, and high-attendance activities. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Events Manager and Events & Volunteer Coordinator to ensure each event has the staffing, materials, and resources required.

Responsibilities include assisting with event site setup and teardown, coordinating signage and safety materials, supporting road closures and staging, helping manage inventory, and stepping into frontline duties during busy or weather-impacted periods. The role also provides direction to seasonal staff and volunteers, communicates operational needs, and helps maintain safe, efficient festival operations. Flexibility for winter conditions, evenings, and weekend work is required.

Assistant Store Manger

Hours vary with weekends and overtime when needed

$18-$20 / hour

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Merchandise Manager in daily retail operations, merchandise sales, and event-based retail activities. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store, processing sales and payments, and assisting with phone and in-person customer inquiries. The role helps manage merchandise displays, track inventory, process online and in-store orders, and support the sale of collectible pins, memberships, and event registrations.

This position also assists with selling merchandise and tickets at event locations, ensuring accurate accounting and smooth operations. The Assistant Store Manager provides basic staff guidance, supports scheduling and opening/closing procedures when needed, and ensures all tasks follow Fur Rondy and GAI policies.

Merchandise / Retail and Events Clerk

Seasonal Part-time Dec – April

$15.00 – $17.00 / hour (variable up to 40 hours/week with Overtime as needed)

Duties The primary responsibility of the merchandise retail and events clerk will be to assist the Merchandise Manager and assistant in the aspects of merchandise sales for Fur Rondy. This will include but is not limited to staffing the Fur Rondy retail store. Retail Store • Provide excellent customer service to all customers that come into Fur Rondy’s retail store. • Ensure that retail store is kept clean and tidy. • Assist in processing all retail store sales in database. • Greet, assist and answer questions of visitors to the retail store. • Answer the Rondy and retail store phone lines. • Process and account for payments made by use of cash register and computer. Merchandise Sales • Assist in making it easy through direct mail, in-person, online and/or telephone to sell merchandise. • Assist processing each order and mailouts in the database. • Help sell Fur Rondy’s numbered pin activity and assist in updating filing system and computer database. • Help with the display and replenishment of racks of non-pin merchandise. • Assist in selling merchandise and pins at indoor event locations. • Process and account for payments made at event locations. Inventory • Assist in counting all merchandise, stocking shelves, and inventory related tasks. • Assist in the documentation needs of inventory. Memberships • Assist in selling GAI memberships with direction By Manager • Assist in the mail out / notification of members of renewal dates. Events registrations & ticketed events • Assist in processing event registrations to Rondy events at the Store. • Assist in selling admission tickets to indoor events at the store or event location. • Assisting in the sale and accounting of Raffle ticket sales • Process and account for payments made.

We welcome you to Fur Rendezvous! This year, Fur Rondy is working to uphold our winter festival tradition. Our goal is to host a festival that, will be a quality experience for everyone – volunteers, participants, and spectators alike.

Volunteers have been the life blood of Rondy allowing for awesome event experiences and memories. Rondy has also been partners to over 40 nonprofit organizations to support their income through event partnerships and has been a consistent boost to the economy during a season that our businesses are not entertaining tourists. Our city, our economy, and our community spirit need a Rondy – and we need all of you, pulling with us, to ensure that we are all providing a good example!
